Australia After World War II
Womens Rights
Once the war had ended there had been some positive, negative and neutral consequences. For example womens rights, after WWII they improved drastically. Since during the war women were given the opportunity to go into the army and do jobs that they were never allowed to do before the war they then continued to be able to join these work forces after the war had ended. This was from the help of Feminist Journalists such as Germaine Greer who in the 60's and 70's helped to continue making women rights as they are today.
”White Rights”
The “White Rights” movement in Australia was a law that did not allow immigrants who weren’t white to immigrant to Australia. This meant that many British and Irish people immigrated to Australia however if you were not white you would not be allowed in. The population still increased dramitatcilly at this point, it increased by 1%. Eventually in 1972 this ban was lifted and anyone could immigrate to Australia.
