AMERICA
PERSPECTIVE
In the war, everyone thinks they’re on the right side. Everyone believes that they are going to turn out victorious, and that they are the good guys. America stuck to their belief throughout the entire war. When they signed to Neutrality Act in 1937, they firmly believed that it was in their best interest. Closing themselves off from the rest of the world was the way to go, in their beliefs. Then, when they were forced into the war by Japan, they automatically had a very black and white perspective. America and the rest of the allies were the good guys, and the axis powers, especially Japan, were the bad guys. Even today, many Americans are very patriotic about their role in the war. Look at Hollywood, so many of their popular movies are about how valiantly they fought in the war. America always believed they were doing the right thing, until the end.
